A little loneliness is good for one's imagination

An illustration of a young Audrey Hepburn and one of many versions of her famous
I believe quotes below...

I believe in manicures. I believe in overdressing. I believe in pink.
I believe happy girls are the prettiest girls.

Who's been colouring my drawings?

I was about to colour my drawing, but HELLO, looks like someone beat me to it... with her MARKERS!!!

Kids are great company when they're not fighting, screaming, whining or colouring your originals.

I told my daughter her colouring was wonderful—so wonderful—I'm going to post it on my blog. She doesn't know what a blog is, but she seemed rather pleased.

The vocal rabbit

Alice

I know, a bit of a stretch to fit this week's Illustration Friday word prompt, vocal. Alice in Wonderland does have a vocal rabbit though. Much more vocal than your average rabbit.

Dorothy's return

Dorothy

Dorothy clicks her heels three times and says, "There's no place like home, there's no place like home, there's no place like home."

My daughter loves singing Over the Rainbow and pretending to be Dorothy from The Wizard of Oz.

Here's a little pencil drawing I did of my Dorothy. I scanned a patch of fabric from her favourite dress and pasted it inside my pencil lines. My daughter's grown out of her Dorothy dress now... no matter how hard she tries to squeeze into it... it's even too small to wear as a top! Looks like the dress will be a hand-me-down to a lucky little cousin.

Illustration Friday: Capable

My Love Grows

Even the smallest are capable of love.

Illustration Friday's word prompt: capable.

I only managed a sketch this week, as my little preppie (pictured above) is taking a 'mental health day' from school today. Let's hope there's less tears and tantrums and more smiles now that she's well rested.

Illustration Friday: Fluid

There's plenty of fluid falling from the sky this week. The children are loving it! While Queenslanders brace themselves for more floods.

Illustration Friday: Prepare

Stacey's first day of school turned out to be one mother's worst nightmare!

Yes, it's always the mother who likes to prepare the night before school with all lunches packed and uniforms ironed, that has the stubborn daughter who refuses to change out of her new pajamas!

Soccer in the park was postponed until the wall was spotless. Now George keeps a notebook under his pillow for all his self-compliments.
